Once the largest cathedral in the world, this architectural masterpiece was commissioned by Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century and served as the Byzantine Empire’s most important religious site. Following the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453, it underwent a transformation into a mosque, incorporating new features such as minarets and Islamic calligraphy. In the 20th century, it was turned into a museum and later back into a mosque in 2020.

- All guests must undergo a mandatory security check, which may involve a wait
- The local operator will send you an email with your entry ticket after booking. If you select the Ticket with Audio Guide option, you'll also receive the activation link for the audio guide as soon as your booking is confirmed
- The audio guide is compatible with iOS and Android devices and available in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Romanian
- Entrance is free of charge for children under the age of 8
- The ticket is valid for the whole day. Opening hours: every day from 9 am to 7.30 pm
