Stedelijk museum of modern and contemporary art entrance tickets

Located on Amsterdam’s iconic Museumplein — next to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum — the Stedelijk Museum is the Netherlands’ first destination for modern and contemporary art and design.

Housed in a striking blend of historic 19th-century architecture and a bold, futuristic new wing, the museum offers a dynamic space where past and present come together. The Stedelijk showcases a world-class collection that spans the pioneers of modern art to today’s emerging talents.

Explore thought-provoking works by internationally renowned artists and designers, including Vincent van Gogh, Piet Mondrian, Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse, Gerrit Rietveld, Marlene Dumas, and many others. Organised thematically and loosely chronologically, the exhibitions reveal how art and design evolve in dialogue with social change, offering diverse perspectives and powerful stories across time. In addition to the highlights, the Stedelijk Museum always presents temporary exhibitions, representing leading modern artists and designers.

Whether you’re an art enthusiast or a curious first-time visitor, the Stedelijk invites you to experience the movements that have shaped and continue to shape the world of art and design.
