About Annecy
Annecy is a water city in the heart of the mountains, with its canals where the river Thiou flows, its lake which is known to be the purest in Europe, its beaches which are only a few minutes away by foot or bicycle and offer visitors a wide range of water sports. Annecy has a lot to offer: from the castle created by the Counts of Geneva to Saint Peter's Cathedral or Saint Francis Church. The labyrinth of narrow streets and passages lined with arcaded houses gives a unique charm to the old town center that seduces visitors. The Musée-Château with its collections of paintings, sculptures... and the observatory of alpine lakes are also things not to be missed in Annecy. Visitors will also be amazed by the Palais de l'Ile, which has become an interpretation center for architecture and heritage, the dungeons, the kitchens, and the small chapel, camped on its rocky island since the Middle Ages.
