Noto is a late baroque town rebuilt after the earthquake occured in 1693 and belonging to the Val di Noto - it is even called 'capitale del barocco'. In 2002, Unesco has even declared its historical downtown a world heritage site. Due to its beauty and location, Noto is mainly known for tourism. Besides its "centro storico", among the other must-see venues one can mention St Nicholas Cathedral, Nicolaci Palace, the local theatre (Teatro Comunale Vittorio Emanuele), Agua Beach.
