A city rich in art and offering a splendid heritage of a glorious past, Ravenna is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Emilia Romagna region. The main reason is that this small town in northern Italy houses the richest patrimony of mosaics dating back to the fifth and sixth centuries AD, kept inside early Christian and Byzantine religious buildings, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
